INTAN JAYA - The Raider Infantry Battalion 509/Balawara Yudha Kostrad, is part of the Indonesian Armed Forces Operational Command (KOOPS TNI) in Papua, which carries out mobile security at the border of Indonesia and Papua New Guinea, especially in the Intan Jaya Regency area, Papua Tengah Province. On Wednesday, 17 July 2024, the 509 Task Forces Patrol Team visited the Buwisiga Village, Sugapa District, and conducted Social Services in the midst of area security activities.
On the orders of the 509 Task Forces Commander, Lieutenant Colonel Dian Dessiawan Setyadi, the Titigi Post led by First Lieutenant Erick Dakusa has planned and prepared for Patrol and Social Services in the Buwisiga Village. The Soldiers used the Social Services for communication and interactions with the residents to learn about the area's developments. The presence of TNI Soldiers was welcomed happily by the residents who had the opportunity to meet face to face.
By prioritizing security during activities, harmonious interactions between TNI Soldiers and residents have resulted in a close relationship between the two parties. To increase familiarity, the Soldiers distributed packages of basic necessities, school supplies, and several daily necessities needed by the residents of Buwisiga Village. The community members were very enthusiastic about receiving the free distribution from the 509 Task Forces. One of them, Mama Ester Sondegau, expressed her impression, "Praise God, we received the distribution from Bapak-Bapak Tentara (Army Soldiers). Thank you Commander 509. God bless.”
“The initiative of the 509 Task Forces to distribute packages of basic necessities in the Buwisiga Village is the TNI's effort to provide services for the basic necessities of the community, in order to support the acceleration of development in the Papua region, " said the KOOPS TNI Commanding General, Brigadier General Lucky Avianto, upon receiving the program report.
